Adam Cole, Psychologist
BA (Hons), MA, MAPS
Since completing my Master's degree in Psychology, I have worked in private practice supporting people with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, workplace stress, adjustment problems, and autism spectrum presentations.
My approach is collaborative, practical, and tailored to the individual. Rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach, I work with each person to understand their circumstances, identify the factors maintaining their difficulties, and develop strategies that fit their goals and values.
Many clients tell me they appreciate having a space where they can speak openly, explore problems without judgement, and gain practical tools for managing life's challenges.
I believe that meaningful change often begins with understanding ourselves more clearly and taking small, consistent steps in a helpful direction.
I am a registered psychologist with more than two decades of experience helping adults navigate life's challenges.
My professional background began with Lifeline, where I provided telephone counselling to people experiencing significant distress and crisis situations. This experience reinforced my belief in the importance of compassionate listening, practical support, and helping people regain a sense of control during difficult times.
What Sets Me Apart
I look beneath the symptoms to the driving mechanism
Rather than treating symptoms alone, I work to identify the underlying beliefs and psychological patterns that keep difficulties alive, helping clients achieve deeper and more lasting change.
the individual Vs one-size-fits-all approach
Every client receives a personalised approach that draws from evidence-based therapies and is adapted to their unique history, personality, strengths, and goals. I value developing a strong therapeutic relationship and supporting clients as they work towards lasting change.
I help build genuine independence
My aim is not simply to help people feel better in the moment, but to equip them with the insight and practical skills to become their own therapist long after counselling has ended.
